The Kind we Raise

At Stansfield Cattle Co., we raise horses and cattle that are expected to do their job and hold up doing it. Whether it’s a Belgian, Barzona, Salers, or Quarter Horse, everything in our program has been sorted down by experience. We’ve run animals in the rocks of Arizona and the winters of Montana. If they couldn’t stay sound, raise a calf, or take a long day’s work, they didn’t stay in the program. No matter the breed, every animal we keep and offer shares a few things in common. We strive to keep Gods creation beautiful in the movement and structure of our animals.

How we carefully select & raise our livestock

We’re not selling animals we wouldn’t ride or ranch with ourselves. If you’re looking for desirable livestock, you can count on for the long haul—we hope you will consider Stansfield Cattle Co.

We intentionally breed our livestock to require minimal input to stay sound and productive..

Stansfield - Shoemaker & Eddleman Legacy

in our blood

Nash is a forth generation stockman. His grandfather was prominent in the horse racing world, Nash spent time on the track experiencing the grit behind the race horses.  Nash’s father established a successful range cattle operation in the deserts of southern Utah which Nash learned from tremendously.

From both branches of her family tree Mattie formed her love for good horses—her great-grandfather Warren Shoemaker helped found the AQHA, and his legacy lives on in the bloodlines they still raise today. Mattie got her love for rodeo through her parents that both pro rodeoed. Her mother, Sandy Jones Eddleman, trained and competed on many great horses. Her barrel horses bloodlines can still be found in some of their broodmares.

Now Nash and Mattie have two little girls Bliss and Swasey. They are committed to raising the type of cattle and horses that their girls can go on with in any direction when the time comes to pass the family legacy on.

“We don’t breed for trends. We breed for trust—and longevity.”
